Its probably not the best thing in the world that Ms Butcher and Ceizy's birthdays are separated by one weekend, the body can only handle so many birthday shots in one night - but I guess we'll be finding out! Hopefully this time its one of them and not me cradling a yard gnome in someone's front yard...but that's a different story for another time...

Friday, November 10th, we'll be doing a birthday show for both of the birthday girls at Joe's Grotto!! I'm really stoked to have HOWITZER playing - we've wanted to play a show with those guys forever and the planets have finally aligned. Damn skippy!

We've gotten rolling on some new material and are really looking forward to getting into the studio in the beginning of the year to FINALLY start working on a new album with our good friend and best damn engineer in town, Byron Filson, over at Villain Recording...we'll be playing some of the new stuff at the show, so don't miss it!

For two and a half years now, Drea Doll has defined the Dames sound as it evolved from the previous more 'garage-esque' sound formerly had with founding Dame guitarist Heather Shope back in 2002, to a heavier, in-your-face sound that made the "Take A Number" record a huge step forward for the Dames from our debut EP "Sin & Tonic". Drea has brought a ton of creative contributions and just straight awesome rockin' riffs over her time with us.

We've arrived at a point where Drea has really grown to be able to pursue bigger goals with her own project, and have all agreed its in everyone's best interests to have Drea pursue her project full time. We fully support her ambitions and she likewise supports ours - we've just all just basically realized its time to divide and conquer...

During Drea's time as a Dame, we've received multiple awards, played some awesome shows (not the least of which being Warped Tour and CBGB's) and accomplished more than I, personally, ever would have dreamed of as a kid rockin out to Joan Jett, the Ramones and the Clash, wanting to be in a punk rock n' roll band.

Ms Butcher, Ceiz and I will continue on as the Dames and will be laying low for a while working on getting new material written. We will miss Drea and her creative input and wish her all the best.

That's right kids - Ms Butcher has returned from her adventure in Mexico and we're back to rockin and rollin. Our next show will be August 12th at Joe's Grotto on the north side of town....stay tuned!

A few people said they heard through the grapevine that the Dames were done -that's ridiculous - though its funny how the grapevine works....ANYWHO - The REAL story is that Ms. Butcher had the opportunity to participate in a study abroad program, so she's off being abroad for about six weeks.

So never fear - we're still here - just taking our first break in, ohhhh, four years. We'll be back to rock your faces off in no time! Ms Butcher will be back in early July, so we'll be playing a show not long after I'm sure. Meanwhile, Ceiz, DD and I will be tossing around ideas for a new album...
